SCHULZ, CHARLES M. 1922-2000. Love Makes You Do Strange Things. Original 3-panel cartoon for Valentine's Day, February 14, 1989, pen and ink on board, the panel frames pre-printed, the copyright statement of United Feature Syndicate and tinted dot pattern on valentine printed on paper and applied, 483 x 138 mm overall image size (sheet size 525 x 177 mm), minimal handling wear. Float mounted and framed, not examined out of frame. A Valentine's Day Peanuts cartoon featuring Charlie Brown trying to find a strategy to cope with his fear of giving a valentine to the Little Red Haired Girl. He decides the best approach is to hide behind a tree. Charlie Brown's unresolved crush on the Little Red Haired Girl was a recurring subject in Schulz's Valentine's Day strips. Her character never appeared in the strip, nor did she ever have a name, although she did appear in some of the television specials, making her screen debut in It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown in 1977.
