The present work by Ogden Minton Pleissner depicts Peacock Point, the estate of prominent financier Henry Pomeroy Davison, Sr. (1867-1922). The mansion was located in Lattingtown, New York overlooking the Long Island Sound and was built between 1914-16 by the architecture firm Walker & Gillette, noted for their elegantly designed country houses and townhomes for the wealthy elite around the turn of the 20th century. The mansion was demolished around 1962 shortly after Davison's widow, Kate (née Trubee) Davison (1871-1962) died.
