Conger Goodyear House, Old Westbury, New York), 2008 Chromogenic print; signed, titled, dated, and inscribed in ink on the reverse, framed. 27 x 34 3/8 in. (68.6 x 87.3 cm.) sheet 33 3/8 x 39 7/8 in. (84.8 x 101.3 cm.) Footnotes: Provenance Gift of the photographer to Eric Cohler Note This renowned example of the International Style was designed and built in 1938 by architect Edward Durell Stone and owned by businessman and philanthropist Anson Conger Goodyear. Located in Old Westbury, New York, the 6,000-square-foot structure was beautifully sited on five-and-a-half acres. After a series of subsequent owners, Eric Cohler bought the house in 2007, preserving and renovating the property to its original glory. The structure has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2003.
