American Restocked British 1756/77 Sea Service Pistol, third quarter of the 18th century. 12 in., .60 caliber round barrel with ring decorated breech, Tower ordnance proof marks on the top of the breech and barrel maker's mark on the left side, added small bead sight at the muzzle; flat lock plate lacking markings on the pointed tail, engraved crown over 'GR' and with crowned broad arrow below the pan; walnut stock of generally proper form but lacking any inspector or assembly markings; brass furniture of proper form including trigger guard with acorn finial, round butt cap with short ears, flat side plate marked on the inside with a broad arrow and assembly number, likely restored belt hook, and a sheet brass rammer pipe secured to the stock with two pins, wood rammer. Overall lg. 19 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel is toned to mottled gray and has pitting at the vent area, lock has minor pitting; stock has minor blemishes and wood losses; furniture toned to yellow/green.
