Sharps Conversion Carbine, Hartford, Connecticut, 1860s-70s. Serial number has been removed, .52 caliber, round barrel with blade front sight and tangent rear sight marked 'R.S. LAWRENCE/PATENTED/FEB 15TH 1859'; the receiver marked on the right side 'R.S. LAWRENCE PAT/APRIL 12TH 1859.' and 'C. SHARPS' PAT/OCT 5TH 1852' and the left side marked 'C. SHAPRPS' PAT/SEPT 12TH 1848'; walnut stock with no cartouches adjacent to the sling bar, steel butt plate and band. Barrel lg. 22, overall lg. 39 1/4 in. Condition: Metal toned to deep brown, stock has scattered minor dings, dents and blemishes, bore has minor pitting but visible rifling, action functions properly.
