A Group of Star Wars Posters Twentieth Century Fox. Comprising a US one-sheet re-release poster for Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), a US one-sheet re-release poster for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), and a set of four lobby cards measuring 20 x 16 in. with a set of three oversized lobby cards measuring 30 x 20 in. for Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. Moviegoers who were too young or not yet born would have a hard time understanding the brouhaha which occurred with the release of the first Star Wars film in 1977 starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. Director and writer George Lucas and the stars themselves were overwhelmed at the reaction, but happily so. The ensuing sequels and prequels, conventions, toys, games, and the like created a franchise that is beloved, more than any other worldwide. Provenance: The Estate of Wes Shank. Largest 27 x 41 in.
