A Limited Edition Donnie Darko Artwork Pandora Cinema/Flower Films, 2001. Digital print on photopaper, signed and numbered to bottom in pencil, 'RK / 01/50 / Oct 2001,' matted and framed. A supernatural tale starring Jake Gyllenhall and Jena Malone explores the inner world of an unusual young man who struggles getting along with others and navigating life. Directed by Richard Kelly, the concept of alternate universes (with a nod to the classic film, Harvey [1950]) is addressed via the experiences of Donnie Darko. In the film, this artwork is presented by Darko: 'So we call them IMGs,' and he proceeds to explain that they are to be worn by infants at night, all the while presenting peaceful slides through the glasses in the hopes that memory would be developed earlier in life. The art was created by director Richard Kelly himself and prints were gifted to cast and crew members. Framed 17 x 20 in.
