Pine box with domed lid opening on wire hinges, the exterior wrapped in block-printed and stenciled paper and the interior fully lined with late 18th-century newsprint, together with contents including a carved wooden comb, steel-framed spectacles, a leather-bound pocket book of Methodist Hymns, and four c. 1836-55 documents regarding property in Cayuga County, New York, wd. 9 7/8, dp. 4 7/8, ht. 4 1/4 in. 2. One pine box with dome lid detached from original leather hinges, the exterior collaged with block-printed and letter-pressed paper, assembled to read 'GOODS' across the top, and in a later continuous band around the well, 'A. Present, to / Ezra Harris Rogers. [1811-26] / Died Nov. 11 1826 / on the 16th year of his age / Preston, Chenango County, N.Y. / From JR', wd. 11, dp. 6, ht. 5 5/8 in. 3.
