STEPHEN ZERBE (B. 1986) One-Time Use Painting, Small, 2019 signed, titled and dated (on the reverse) plastic on wood 11 x 18 in. 27.9 x 45.7 cm. Footnotes: Provenance Courtesy of the artist Artist statement: Stephen Zerbe (b.1986) lives and works in Los Angeles. He studied architecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design and was a member of Ironworkers Local 40. Much of his recent work combines representations of mass-produced objects like clamshell takeout containers and plastic wrappers with stock imagery and empty space on structural frameworks in order to create compositions that hover between the figurative and the abstract, sculpture and painting. His work has been exhibited at Dries Van Noten, Los Angeles; Jeffrey Stark, New York; The Bunker Malibu, and Ventanas Techo, Mexico City. In addition to his art practice and commissioned installations, he works as an architect and custom builder.
