Footnotes: Provenance Courtesy of the artist Artist statement: Molly Haynes is a Los Angeles-based artist whose woven forms explore structure and materiality. Through the use of hand-manipulated techniques, she confronts the traditional grid system of the loom, expanding the medium into the realm of sculpture. She scales up traditional weave structures into architectural objects which feel simultaneously biomorphic. Bursting and distorted, her works offer a thought-provoking commentary on the interplay between nature and human-made constructs.
