Footnotes: Provenance Courtesy of the artist Artist statement: MIKE CHATTEM (b.1988, Queens, NY) was raised in New England and now lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Recently his work has been included in shows at Gattopardo (Los Angeles, CA), Hashimoto Contemporary (Los Angeles, CA), SOIL gallery (Seattle, WA), Adelphi University (Garden City, NY), the Torrance Art Museum (Torrance, CA) and SPRING/BREAK Art Show (Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY). He holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Over the last year Mike has collaborated with Curve Line Space as a guest curator helping organize four shows including Weird Flowers in 2023 and Light Daze in the Darkness in 2024. Other curatorial projects include Galaxy Brain at St. J in 2019, Hot Spring at the SPRING/ BREAK Art Show in 2022 and Dissolution of Allusion at Modest Common in 2023, all in Los Angeles respectively. His work has been featured in the publications New American Paintings and ArtsinSquare. He holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
