A GROUP OF FOURTEEN EMBROIDERED SLEEVE BANDS Late Qing Dynasty Comprising: a pair of light-green ground silk bands embroidered with ladies in fenced gardens of bamboo trees and rockwork; a pair of white-ground bands finely embroidered with birds atop tree branches; a pair of yellow ground bands decorated with floral sprays and birds; a pair of blue ground bands made from gauze embroidered with flowers and ornamental rockwork, mounted on a piece of paper; a yellow ground silk panel densely embroidered with flowers and butterflies within a border of flowers in blue and black threads; a panel enclosing butterflies and a peacock rendered in gilt and polychrome threads; a panel on white ground embellished with flowers issuing from variously shaped flower pots; a turquoise ground panel with blossoming lotus flowers and leaves; a long and thin green ground bands of flowers and butterflies in bright colours enclosed within two paralleling black silk bands; a white ground band with floral sprays and birds holding lingzhi in its beak.
