Footnotes: Provenance i, iii) Susan Ollemans, London i, ii, iii) Private collection, Asia These three Dieng-style rings are characterised by a flat top and U-shaped hoop. Their large size suggests that this type of ring might not have been intended to be worn on a finger, but rather on a toe or as a pendant on a chain around the neck. The flat quatrefoil bezel incised with the sri motif, which symbolises 'luck', 'fertility' and 'prosperity', is meant to convey good fortune to its wearer.
