After discovering his passion for drawing at an early age, he enrolled in art school in 1910 and later studied architecture. In 1926, he became a teacher at the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine in Hanoi, where he diverged from traditional teaching methods and instead emphasised Vietnam's culture. Inguimberty's legacy therefore goes beyond aesthetics, as he bridged tradition and innovation and thus shaped the development of modern Vietnamese art.
