FIVE JAPANESE FAN SILVER-PLATED NAPKIN RINGS America, late 19th century, group includes one pair of rings balancing on the wings of a long-tailed bird and brass handle of a paper fan, all mounted on stepped base impressed with mark of Derby Silver Co. (Birmingham, Connecticut, 1873-98), no. 346; together with two napkin rings raised between opposing paper fans on a square base centering a perched butterfly, the one engraved 'Viola.' marked Meriden Britannia Co. (Meriden, Connecticut, 1852-98), no. 208, and the one engraved 'L.M.S.' impressed with mark of Rogers, Smith & Co. (Meriden, 1857-77), no. 208; and one napkin ring conforming with previous set but lacking base. Largest wd. 1 3/4, dp. 3 1/4, ht. 3 3/8 in. Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION: Good.
