POL BURY (Belgian, 1922-2005) Untitled signed and dated indistinctly 'Bury ...8' (lower right) watercolor and gouache on paper 48.0 x 33.0 cm (18 7/8 x 13 in). framed 64.0 x 49.0 x 1.5 cm (25 1/4 x 19 1/4 x 5/8 in). Footnotes: Provenance Mr. and Mrs. Sadi Strebelle (gift from the artist circa 1950s). Estate of Christine Strebelle Ezelle (by descent from the previous). N.B. Francine Falise Strebelle and Sadi Strebelle were the parents of Pol Bury's first wife, Claudine Strebelle. The present composition resembles Bury's 1949 Untitled, found on page 187 of Pol Bury's Online Catalogue Raisonné.
