Daghestan Prayer Rug Caucasus c. third quarter 19th century, an older prayer rug from the East Caucasus with good overall pile and a wide array of vivid natural dyes. Very finely woven. The warps are wool. We think the wefts are silk or possibly very fine cotton. The edges have been rewrapped, but beyond that there is very little restoration or repair.
