Brown card portfolio cover with applied photographic illustration on front cover, printed paper pocket inside. Light wear, a few stains to inside pocket, minor creasing. LIMITED EDITION, one of 200 copies. Experimental filmmaker and artist Wallace Berman produced 9 issues of Semina between 1955 and 1964, featuring work by authors and artists, including Jean Cocteau, Charles Bukowski, and Willam S. Burroughs. This issue, number 7, featured Berman's own work, utilizing a combination of photographs, drawings and text to create the printed inserts, all of which vary in size, shape and material. Aleph was also the title of his 6-minute experimental film, which was assembled from 8mm film over a period of 18 years. He is said to have predicted that he would die on his 50th birthday—a prediction that came true when he was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver on his birthday in 1976.
