MY SELF Ode to 'Love And Peace' My bodice being Vermillion Would cheer the heart of a Peer Or even Vermeer, who indeed Was of Delft But being MY SELF a true Balinese I've Dignity-plus; my mien and gait are Gallantly-langourous, Perhaps due to carrying fruits, bantens n' Elves on my head crowned by a Towel-o'-rags Which my deft hands transform into a Turban-like Lore. In my hands I pet and cajole a White Dove, Symbol of tenderness, Love and Much saught-afters: Peace. Yet, do I look askance, For compositionally Blanco requires it, And like a good deft Model I .... Give But also, remember, we Baliense, when shy Or Embarassed, Always Will ... askance with-the-look; Its evasive, its bright, and delights the eye of The Holder of this Painting: John Chirgwin Who beholds my Balinese self Be-bodiced by millions of threads Of Vermillion, that go to comprise (not only my bodice) But Self! AN ESSAY Take an Islandl its supposed to be surrounded by water. True of most Islands; but the Bali of 'Blanco' is peopled by- THE 'BIG' 'B' BUMPS BUBAS N' BANGLES PLENTY of feeling, good to the touch ... either one ........ The Bump, the Buba, or Bangle. Would would an EARPLUG be in Bali? THAT is not the question ... that IS the bangle ... thrust thru the lobe of the ear of a Miden of Bali ... sooooo fair, named perhaps ... GEM ... Smaka? Or could it be Paka? TJEMPAKA ... The White Flower She lacks not the firmness, the slimness, the fabulous Beauty of Indra, She floats in Grace, without being fastened together by oooodles of lace, yet supported way above by SANSKRIT letters that weave a tapestry of – EXOTIC design. Put them all together ... the FRAME, The Maiden, THE BUBA (Don't worry abt the Island) .. IT can't float away, its there to stay, like a Stay in her corset ... down under the Buba, and .... Holding fast to-it-all like a fulcrum ... lies the Village of Ubud ... or is it a den? Denisens now live there that corrupt and freighten the Devils of Bali ... out of their wits with their Arti-Crafts (and it ain't NO HAY). Now, for the highest peak of them all: ITS found in TJAMPUAN Where the Daughter, The Wife, The Son and The Holy Ghost dwell, (not reside) BLANCO as resident, takes the part of a President and dents the Island with ART that is Highest.
