The Joshua Lewis House in Needham, Massachusetts, was built in 1776. In its history, the house has been visited by and home to a number of significant figures, including Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882), Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), and Swiss horticulturalist and early director of the Arnold Arboretum Denys Zirngiebel (1829-1905). Zirngiebel's daughter, Henriette, married Andrew Wyeth, and their son N.C. Wyeth (1882-1945) used the home as a studio for many years. OVERALL CONDITION: Very good. Not examined out of frame.
