Bespoke cream-colored short-sleeved leather vest with leather laces connecting both the sleeves to the bodice and the sides together, with 3 tassel ties down the front. Retaining internal United Costumers Hollywood bias label with handwritten 'Jane Russell.' Though this was part of the costume which Russell wore in the film, the vest was eventually removed. Publicity photos feature her wearing the full outfit. The Outlaw made headlines and created outrage from the outset with now iconic publicity portraits of Russell posing seductively by a haystack. Director Howard Hughes added fuel to the fire by declaring he had a special bra made for Jane Russell's legendary bust. Due to production code problems, the film was not generally released until 1946, following a very small release in 1943.
