TWO FAMILLE ROSE 'ANIMALS' FISH BOWLS Late Qing Dynasty One with deeply rounded sides rising to a flared rim with a flat top, the sides decorated with two large coiled dragons writhing among peony and chrysanthemum flowers against a yellow ground, between a lappet band above the foot and a high ruyi head border to the shoulders both enclosing lotus scroll, the interior decorated with fish among pond weeds, the details heightened in gilt; the other of similar shape decorated with black ground green-enamelled lotus scroll and set with four large panels enclosing peacocks, qilin, magpies and Buddhist lion dogs with smaller decorative panels. 47cm (18 1/2in) diam.
