Eliot and E.M. Forster. Marchand was at Garsington in summer 1922 with fellow guests including Simon Bussy, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. Photographs show Marchand working in the grounds of the house (Lady Ottoline Morrell's Photograph Albums, National Portrait Gallery, London).
