Burroughs, first separate edition, limited to 500 copies, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on p.1 and INSCRIBED BY ALLEN GINSBERG on final page ('Allen Ginsberg/ Nova Convention, Dec 1, 1978'), 14 leaves, mimeographed typescript printed on one side only, on pink, white and blue paper stocks, stapled as issued in original pink title wrappers, a couple of very small spots on front wrapper, 32mo, New York, [Fuck You Press], 1964 Footnotes: 'Printed, published, & zapped at a secret location in the lower east side, new york city, Jan 1964. TOTAL ASSAULT ON THE CULTURE!' (colophon). A very good copy of this significant piece of counterculture literature, signed by Burroughs and later inscribed by Ginsberg at the Nova Convention in 1978. The piece was originally removed by censors from publication in City Lights' Yage Letters (Villiers Press, London), as referred to on page 1: 'This routine was bricked out of the City Lights Volume by paranoid printers in England. It was first stomped into print in Floating Bear #9'. The 1978 three-day Nova Convention was held in honour of Burroughs. In addition to Burroughs and Ginsberg, performers included John Cage, Philip Glass, Steve Lacy, Patti Smith, Blondie, Brion Gysin and Laurie Anderson. Burroughs 'was in rare form, sitting at a desk in a business suit and bright green hat, shuffling papers and reading in his dry Midwestern accent' (New York Times, 4 December 1978).
