A Perspective View of the Thames Tunnel, double-decker peepshow, with four hand-coloured engraved divisions, the first with a large engraving of the young Queen Victoria's arrival on the Thames ('A View of Rotherhithe from Wapping') mounted on blue card, with the engraved title label mounted below and three peepholes, the upper peephole showing boats on the River Thames, and the two beneath showing pedestrians (pasted on) in the Tunnel through three double arches, bound concertina-style into cloth-backed marbled boards, with engraved label on upper cover ('A Perspective View of the Thames and the Thames Tunnell. History of the Thames Tunnel'), printed sheet headed 'A Brief Account of the Thames Tunnel' mounted on front pastedown (some old scribbles and soiling), 205 x 175mm., extending to 600mm., Azulay, Thames Tunnel, [not before 1846] Footnotes: A very good copy of one of the souvenirs sold inside the Tunnel archways at specially erected counters, the statistic for footfall in the printed account indicating that 4,767,899 people paid the one penny to visit the Tunnel between 1843 and 1846.
