A William and Mary silver nutmeg grater Mary Elliott, London 1689 Tear-shaped form, a cover to both top and bottom attached by a pair of triple-lugged standaway hinges, the upper featuring a simple engraved tulip with furling leaves, opening to reveal a fixed grater, the base pulling down to contain the nutmeg, the exterior plain polished with reeded decoration, length 4.5cm, weight 1oz.
