A George III bright-cut silver nutmeg grater Susanna Barker, London 1791 Oval cylindrical form, hinged top and bottom, the cover with reeded rim and an ostrich armorial engraved to the top, lifting-up and folding back to reveal a fixed full-length grater, the whole plain polished and highlighted in striking bright-cut engraving, featuring a rayed star to each side and pelmet tassels top and bottom, height 7.5cm, weight 1.4oz. Footnotes: Property of a Private Collector Despite the nature of the charge, there are a large number of families that use this ostrich crest. Some of them are: WRAY, DIGBY, ESCOTT, COOK, WALLACE, SMITH, COMMELINE, FRASER, WYATT, PEARSON, STEWART, etc. Additional information is required to confirm the specific family.
