A large photograph of Maharajah Hira Singh of Nabha (reg. 1871-1911) seated with Lord Curzon, the Viceroy circa 1903 albumen print laid down on a card album page, verso a later silvered print depicting Government House, Calcutta, probably in the 20th Century photograph 367 x 288 mm.; album page 401 x 303 mm. Footnotes: The photograph was formerly part of a Nabha State album in the collection of Walter Clode. George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston (1859-1925), was Viceroy of India between 1899 and 1905. The photograph was probably taken in 1903, the year of the Delhi Durbar (perhaps Curzon's greatest triumph), at which Edward VII was proclaimed King-Emperor.
