A fine Qajar woven wool coat Kashmir or Kirman, third quarter of the 19th Century the wool woven in polychrome with a repeat design of interlinked cartouches filled with Mughal style floral sprays, embroidered inscription-filled cartouche to lower left 137 cm. long Footnotes: Inscriptions: farmayeshi-ye naw tarh naw zohur momtaz a'ala a'la, 'Commission of the new design, new innovation, excellent, highest, highest.' Texts such as that featured on the present lot are found on some textiles, mainly shawls, made in Kashmir.
