A Kashan underglaze-painted pottery jug Persia, 12th Century of squat bulbous form on a short foot, the body rising to a slightly flaring cylindrical neck, with round handle and flat thumb knop, decorated in cobalt blue and black on a white ground with bands of inscription, the rim with foliate scrollwork and palmettes, with fitted box 12.2 cm. high Footnotes: Provenance Private Belgian collection acquired at Mansour Gallery, London on the 1st of September 2000, and thence by descent.
