PETITE BOÎTE COUVERTE EN BRONZE ET MÉTAUX MIXTES, SIGNÉ KYOTO KUMAGAYA ZO Japon, période Meiji (1868-1913) ou Taisho (1912-1926) AN INLAID BRONZE SMALL CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER, SIGNED Kyoto Kumagaya zo Meiji or Taisho era Decorated in high relief of gilt, copper and bronze depicting possibly the rakan Dakaharita Sonja in a garden among kikyo (Chinese bellflowers) and other autumnal plants and flowers, holding in one hand a mokugyo (Buddhist liturgical wood gong) and a mallet in the other; signed on the base Kyoto Kumagaya zo. 13.5cm (5 1/4in) diam.
