c.1965 Ducati 94cc Cadet Registration no. GFM 789H (see text) Frame no. unable to locate Engine no. 100V06478 Alongside its four-stroke ranges Ducati also offered a wide variety of two-stroke lightweights, most of which were sold on the domestic market, commencing in 1958 with the short-lived 48cc Sport. Fan cooling was a feature of many of these models, including the 94cc Cadet offered here. The fan was mounted on the right-hand end of the crankshaft, with the hot air exiting from the cowling via a large aperture on the left-hand side. The fan was dropped after 1966. This example of a Ducati lightweight rarely seen outside its native Italy comes with an old-style logbook recording the date of first UK registration as 1st July 1970. This logbook shows that the Ducati was first registered by Auto Mota Sales of Chester and lists three private owners up to 6th April 1971 (the affixed tax disc expired on 30th June 1971 and the odometer reading is 4,476 miles). The Ducati was purchased by the vendor over 30 years ago, since when it has been dry stored. Recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent will be required before the machine returns to the road and thus it is sold strictly as viewed (the engine turns over). It should be noted that the registration 'GFM 789H' is not recorded in the HPI database; accordingly, prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's registration status prior to bidding and, if successful, make an application to the DVLA to re-register it. Key not required Footnotes: All lots are sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
