A commemorative Queen's Silver Jubilee brass and silver mounted chiming mahogany table/bracket clock in the George III style, the dial signed Garrard, the backplate similarly signed for Garrard and F.W Elliot Ltd, and numbered 166/250 the arched rectangular case with pad top and silver handle, the sides with pierced rectangular sound grills, the moulded base on silver ogee bracket feet, the silvered dial with 5.75'' silvered Roman chaptic ring with outer Arabic five minute track and engraved shaped royal residences integral mounts, the centre with engraved Tudor rose and pierced quatrefoil blued steel hands, the arch with applied commemorative Silver Jubilee royal coat of arms, the brass four pillar triple fusee movement with horizontal platform escapement, the musical cylinder chiming on a nest of eight graduated bells, for Westminster/Wittingham and Manchester chimes, and striking the hour and half hour on two bells, the engraved rectangular backplate winding through the rear with scroll and Tudor rose decoration, and engraved drapery cartouche, inscribed 'Specially Commissioned By Garrard T Crown Jewellers From F.W Elliot Ltd 166/250' with matching winder and original manufacturers and retailers paperwork, and receipt and correspondence for Autumn 1977, 38cm high, 25cm wide, 15cm deep This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
