A George III mahogany side chair in the manner of Paul Saunders Circa 1760, on cabochon embedded rocaille and scrolled cartouche wrapped acanthus and C-scroll carved cabriole front legs terminating in scrolled foliate clasped feet, with beech splayed rear legs, 61cm wide x 60cm deep x 97cm high, (24in wide x 23 1/2in deep x 38in high) Footnotes: The carving to the front legs of the present chair is redolent of much of the seat furniture output of the important Georgian cabinet maker and 'upholder' Paul Saunders (1722-1771), especially during the period 1755-1760.
