Joined Pine Chest of Drawers, Massachusetts, early 18th century. Thumb molded top pegged and nailed to case with bracket molding applied below overhanging edges, the sides both constructed with double-pegged mortise-and-tenon frame surrounding a beveled panel, a top and bottom rail similarly containing the roughly plane-molded and beveled backboard, the front with molding applied to rails and dividers between four graduated drawers with dado-jointed stretchers side-hung on internal rails, each dovetailed with planed bottoms and faceted drawer fronts, case open at the bottom indicating absence of an original base component, later dark brown paint, hardware possibly original, (imperfections), 104cm wide, 58cm deep, 78cm high (41in wide, 23 3/4in deep, 31in high).
