Armorial Porcelain Plate and Deep Dish, China, c. 1795. Matching dinner plate and deep dish bearing Scottish coat of arms with Cardross impaling Elphinstone, the former quartering arms of Erskine, Mar, Stuart, and Buchan, the Erskine crest with couped boar's head raised on sword and arm, the motto 'FORTITUDINE.' inscribed in a purple banner below, the rims decorated in gilt and blue enamel scallop, dot, and floral pattern, (repaired break to plate), largest, diam. 9 1/2, ht. 1 7/8 in.
