George I Pewter Quart Tankard, William Eddon (active c. 1690-1740), London, England, with forged mark of Parks Boyd. Tapered barrel soldered to ogee-molded base and handle with hinged scroll thumbpiece joined to double dome lid opposite the crenate overhanging lip, impressed 'P. BO[Y]D' on bottom, an undocumented mark added later to indicate manufacture by Parks Boyd (1771-1819) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, an encircled hourglass touchmark impressed on bottom interior, 17cm wide, 10cm deep, 17cm high (7 1/2in wide, 4 7/8in deep, 7 3/4in high).
