Federal Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, America, 19th century. Rounded mahogany top with ovolo corners and banded edges, over case with conforming quarter-round side cabinets centering two veneered and dovetailed pine drawers, the top drawer having four divided compartments lined with green baize, all raised on engaged square legs with collared tapered feet, 162cm wide, 58cm deep, 99cm high (64 3/4in wide, 23in deep, 39 5/8in high). Saleroom notices: This piece was part of the collection of Nina Fletcher Little. Prior to her acquisition of the piece in 1957, it had descended in the Trumbull family since 1800, according to an old document present in the drawer.
