Two Framed 'New Goods' Broadsides, mid-Atlantic United States, 1853-60. One sheet printed in black ink, advertising 'New Goods for the Fall Trade of 1860 at the Store of W.H. Parsons in Pine Valley' dated 29 October 1860, in glazed veneered frame; together with a larger tri-color printed sheet in gold-painted frame, advertising trade in 'Spring and Summer Goods', 'Hats, Caps & Bonnets / Hardware and Queensware! / Medicines, Drugs, Dye Stuffs, / Boots, Shoes, Groceries, &c.' at the stand of John Ferguson in Mount Jackson, Pennsylvania, dated April 1853 and signed by printers Young & Duross of Philadelphia, illustrated with spread wing eagle in top center carrying a banner inscribed 'Small Profits / Quick Sales' and border containing circular seals of thirty-one states around header depicting the Signing of the Declaration of Independence and a smaller spread wing eagle carrying banner inscribed, 'NEWS / FOR THE / PEOPLE!', largest sight, wd. 18 3/8, ht. 23 1/4 in.
