Four Queen Anne Walnut and Mahogany Chairs, probably New England, 18th century and later. Matched group includes one armchair with spurred, relief-carved walnut yoke continuing to rounded shoulders, these tenoned to ogee-shaped stiles centering a solid vasiform splat with chamfered back edge, carved hardwood armrests tenoned and pinned to stiles from exterior, terminating on outward-scrolling volute handholds and raised on carved C-scroll supports lapped and rabbeted over stretchers of the trapezoidal slip-seat, the front panel of which is solid tiger maple with cut-out scalloped border, draw-jointed at corners to carved cabriole forelegs on platformed pad feet and raking chamfered square legs at rear, all braced with full turned and blocked stretcher base.
