The Macallan Anniversary Malt-50 year old-1928 Bottled 1983. Distilled and bottled by Macallan-Glenlivet PLC Scotland. Imported by Corade. Bottle 140 of 500. In original wooden presentation case with leather straps. Labelling with a few dark finger prints to the right-hand side and slight crinkling to the label on the left-hand side. Level: mid-shoulder. 75cl. Single malt, 38.6% volume 1 bottle Footnotes: At the time of its release in 1983, The Macallan Anniversary Malt 50 year old was the oldest expression ever released by the iconic Speyside distillery. Selected from three casks filled in 1926 and 1928, it is immediately apparent that this iconic spirit is in fact closer to 54 or 55 years old rather than 50. It was brought to market in tandem with the first, and equally celebrated, 25 year old Anniversary Malt and bottled at 38.6%, which at that time was perfectly legal. Released for sale at £50, Allan Shiach, the then chairman of The Macallan, stated 'It is no exaggeration to say that (this) bottle of 50 years old The Macallan is literally irreplaceable'.
