Alexander Stoddart (born 1959) bronze James Clerk Maxwell, 1831 – 1879, Physicist modelled seated on a chair inscribed 'A Stoddart' and 'Paisley' raised on a grey wooden plinth, 20cm wide, 39cm deep, 55cm high (7 1/2in wide, 15in deep, 21 1/2in high) (Together with a set of three original drawings, framed together and a pair of hand-tinted and signed colour prints, framed together, '1/50', (3) Footnotes: This is a maquette or study for the statue of the physicist, James Clerk Maxwell, commissioned by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and erected in George Street in 2008. Maxwell, with his dog Toby at his feet, holds a spinning colour top. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: AR AR Goods subject to Artists Resale Right Additional Premium.
