Footnotes: This is the full armorial for Hon. George Robert DAWSON (1790-1856) of Castle Dawson, co. Londonderry, Ireland and his wife Mary PEEL (1800-1848) of Chamber Hall, Bury. They were married in 1816 at Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire. George DAWSON was born in Rutland Square, Dublin and was the second son of Arthur DAWSON (1745-1822) of Castle Dawson, co. Londonderry, MP for Banagher, Midleton and Newtonards in the Irish Parliament, by his wife Catherine MONCK (1757-1838). He died in Grosvenor, London Mary PEEL was the daughter of Sir Robert PEEL (1750-1833) of Drayton Manor, Staffordshire 1st Baronet, created 1800, by his wife Ellen YATES (1766-1803). Mary was the sister of Sir Robert PEEL (1788-1850) 2nd BT, later twice Prime minster of the UK and founder of the Metropolitan Police.
