Alexander Stoddart (born 1959) bronze James Clerk Maxwell, 1831 – 1879, physicist modelled seated on a chair inscribed 'A stobbart' and 'Paisley' raised on a grey wooden plinth, 20 39cm wide, 55cm deep, (15in wide, 21 1/2in deep, 55cm high, 38cm wide. (Together with a set of three original drawings, framed together and a pair of hand-tinted and signed colour prints prints, framed together, '1/50', (3) Footnotes: This is a maquette or study for the statue of the physicist, James Clerk Maxwell, commissioned by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and erected in George Street in 2008.
