Epée Ottomane en acier à poignée en laiton (yataghan), Turquie XIXe siècle An Ottoman brass-hilted steel sword (yataghan), Turkey, 19th Century the single-edged steel blade of slightly curved form, the blade decorated in silver inlay with foliate cartouches and roundels interspersed by stars, the forte decorated with brass in repoussé with foliate motifs, the brass hilt with prominent ears forming the pommel, decorated in repoussé with floral and geometric designs, the wood scabbard clad in purple velvet with brass mounts decorated in repoussé, the chape possibly later 72.5 cm. long Footnotes: Provenance Property from a Royal Collection.
