Deux épées Ottomanes en acier damasquiné argent (yataghans), Turquie XIXe siècle Two Ottoman silver-damascened steel swords (yataghans), Turkey, 19th Century the first with single-edged blade of curved form decorated in silver overlay with vegetal motifs, makers stamp to one side, the steel hilt decorated in silver overlay with vegetal motifs; the second with single-edged steel blade of slightly curved form with flattened spine, decorated in silver inlay to the forte with foliate motifs, the horn hilt of typical form, the wood scabbard clad in brown leather with silver damascened steel mounts the larger 80 cm. long(2) Footnotes: Provenance Property from a Royal Collection.
