AOR-4.239 Grateful Dead Rainbow Theater European Tour Poster. 1978. Designed by Alton Kelley. Original first printing on white stock advertising the cancelled Rainbow Theater concert in London and the infamous three-day show at the Sound and Light Theatre at the Great Pyramid in Giza in Egypt. Beneath the bold 'Egypt 1978' the remainder of the show information is printed in Arabic. Although billed as the 'European Tour 1978,' these Grateful Dead performances were the sole ones held abroad during that timeframe. The Egyptian concerts fell between a September 2 show in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and a series at Winterland in San Francisco from October 17 to 22. 30 x 20 in.
