Helena Bonham Carter (as Princess Margaret): A kaftan ensemble Season 3, Episode 2, 'Margaretology' Custom-made gold kaftan with panther design to the bottom and three-quarter length sleeves, a bronze-coloured slip with spaghetti straps and pleating below the bust; together with a pair of gold and silver-coloured T-bar sandals with small block heels by Carvela (3) Footnotes: As worn by Helena Bonham Carter (as Princess Margaret) when she is in bed with a cold, on the Douglas Ranch, Arizona set. In November, 1965, Princess Margaret and her then-husband the Earl of Snowdon, toured the United States to promote the release of Lord Snowdon's book. During the Royal tour, Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon travelled to Tucson for a stay at the Douglas family residence on the far east end of Fort Lowell Road. The Royal couple then stayed at the Douglas ranch in Sonoita. Lewis Williams Douglas was Ambassador to Britain from 1947 to 1950; during this time, his daughter, Sharman, and Princess Margaret had become close friends. While on tour, a dinner at the White House was arranged in the royal couple's honour, so this was added to their itinerary. The dinner, hosted by President Lyndon B. Johnson (1908 - 1973) and First Lady Claudia Alta 'Lady Bird' Johnson (1912 - 2007), was hailed as a great success.
