The Crown Research Library: A large collection of books relating to the Royal Family To include: contemporary souvenir books of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; The Duke & Duchess of Windsor Sotheby's sale catalogue; Harry: Conversations with the Prince, Angela Levin; A Royal Christmas, Jeremy Archer; The Royal Ladies, Gwen Robyns, approximately 90 volumes Footnotes: The Crown's Research department was made up of five full-time researchers and various part-time specialists. The team worked closely with writer Peter Morgan and the script team from the storylining of a season through to the script stage, and with other departments including the cast, directors, costume, art, and locations departments during filming. They sourced and evaluated all forms of media from books to newspapers and archival footage, as well as consulting with primary sources close to the characters conveyed in the show, to provide the production with a detailed and analytical portrait of the period and characters.
