(15 x 11½ in.) Footnotes: Both dresses depicted were worn by Lia Williams (as Wallis Simpson) in Season 1, Episode 5, 'Smoke and Mirrors'. The ballgown (left) was worn for the Paris magazine photoshoot scene, and is lot 17 in The Crown Live Auction, Bonhams New Bond Street, 7th February 2024, and the dress (right) was worn in the Paris interview with the Duke, and is lot 181 of this auction. Michele Clapton, Costume Designer for Season 1 of The Crown, has worked on numerous film and TV projects, from Game of Thrones to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
